COP 21

The Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territory Planning in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Center for Strategic Policies held on Monday last, a High Level Conference on “Cape Verde and the UNFCCC –  Subsidies for participation in the cop 21 of Paris“, the conference took place in the Conference room of the Government Palace. This conference aimed to socialize and discuss with all national partners connected to this theme and some international, information and burning issues concerning the UNFCCC and the negotiation process of the New Climate Agreement. The Climate Change dossier is undoubtedly one of the issues but disturbing for contemporary society. The uncertainties associated with this phenomenon and its potential consequences for the planet and, especially for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Cape Verde, have questioned the scientific community and the political powers all over the world to raise awareness and better coordination of efforts to strengthen the capacity of collective response through mitigation actions and adaptation.
